Vivian Hill Obituary

Obituary

On October 16, 1964, in Newark, New Jersey, God blessed Betty Ambler and Tedock Bell Jr. with Vivian Lynn Hill. She passed away on April 5, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength.

Vivian “Sweet n Sexy Viv” (also known as “Viv”) was raised on Pomona Avenue in Newark’s Weequahic section and graduated from Weequahic High School, where she was a proud flag twirler. She became a mother to one son and three daughters and devoted her life to raising her children with love and determination.

Vivian was known for her strong personality and honesty.

She worked in various roles throughout her life, including at the airport, later becoming a security officer. She relocated to Pennsylvania and worked as an Amazon associate in Hazleton, PA, where she remained until her passing.

She enjoyed family gatherings, playing spades and solitaire, dancing to R&B music, watching horror and LMN movies, keeping up with CNN, and following boxing. She was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan and enjoyed cooking, especially her well-loved lasagna. Her humor, bold personality, and signature style of long nails and red lipstick made her unforgettable.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Timothy Wright; her children, Tasha Hill, Talia Ogumka (and her husband, Christian Ogumka), and Tanika Hill; her 15 grandchildren: Rashaun Hill, Rasheed Hill Jr., A’liyah Hill, Aryana Ramirez, Tiyanna Jackson, Tatiyana Sewall, Tiyarah Sewall, Amari Thomas, Julio Alicea-Guzman Jr., Javier Alicea-Guzman, Nathan Jackson Jr., Tyra Jackson, Taniya Coaker, Nasir Gutierrez, and Tamera Gutierrez; her 2 great-grandchildren, Jayce Jackson and Brayden Hill; her siblings, Frederick Hill, Annette McCotter, Gail Hill, Machell Clark, Michael Bell, Sandra Clark, and Tommy Bell; along with a host of other relatives and friends. She is reunited with her beloved son, Rasheed Hill, Sr.

Her love and memory will live on in all who knew her.

Scripture:
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying… for the former things are passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
