Shirley Hatcher Williams Obituary

Shirley M. Hatcher Williams was born in New York City, New York on May 1, 1941 to the late Mary Lou Hatcher.  Shirley was reared in North Carolina for most of her adolescent and teenaged years, but moved back to the Northeast, where she fell in love with a soldier and married him.  Shirley was a great wife, mom and friend.  She was a caring person who loved her family and friends deeply.  She enjoyed life!  Shirley loved having gatherings to bring family and friends together for nonstop laughter throughout her home.  She was the lifeline of the family.

Shirley loved helping people.  Shirley enjoyed helping people so much, she made a career of it.  She was a Home Health Care Associate employed by the Hudson County Home Health Agency, until she retired.  In addition, Shirley became caretaker of many children.   Shirley became, “second mom” to many due to her love for people.  She would take in anyone who needed help or food.  Shirley believed that no one should be hungry or alone.  She celebrated life and wanted others to feel loved and appreciated.  She believed in this concept so deeply, she would bake birthday cakes for her children and friends of her children, so our life would be celebrated.

Shirley “is” an Excellent mom!!!!  She devoted her entire life to her children.  She loved us so much!! She sacrificed her own goals to help us pursue our own. Shirley “is” an Excellent grandma!!!! She would do anything in her power to be present in their lives and developed a bond with all of them with her love that will live forever!  Shirley lives forever in our spirit!!!!

Shirley went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2018 quite unexpectedly.  She is now with her daughters Dallas Hatchett and Sandra Woodard in Heaven.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Pearl Wright, brothers Esau Witcher, Jake Witcher, Willie Witcher, Danny Witcher and George Witcher and great-grandchild Sonia Hatchett.
