Shawn Malcolm Obituary

Shawn Devon Malcolm was born on December 21, 1976, from the union of Joanna Malcolm and the late Robert Malcolm.  Shawn attended PS #40 School (Ezra L. Nolan) then went on to graduate from Henry Snyder High School.  Thereafter, he attended Hudson County Community College, majoring in Communications.

Shawn was once employed by Comcast Cable as a Sales Representative.  Before he was legally old enough to work, he was famously known for going on Tee (Purchasing candy bars and traveling to New York City and selling them for profit). He introduced many of his young friends to candy selling, as this was a way to put money in their pockets.  He was also known for his Ambition & Entrepreneurial skills and leadership.

Shawn had a heart of Gold, and would give you his last.  He was known for always helping others, whether it was Financially, Physically or Emotionally. He was the go to person for anyone in need.

Shawn was definitely all about his family.  He was a family oriented Christian man.  His main Love was his mother, whom he loved dearly.  He was very close to his three sisters and had a unique relationship with each of them.  He had an even greater connection with his Nieces and Nephews.  You would often find him giving them advice in all areas of life & enjoyed seeing them whenever he could.    Shawn definitely loved the kids. At any given time you would see Shawn with someone’s child. Holding them or giving them a dollar to go to the store. He was a huge Notorious B.I.G fan, often times you would catch him hanging out in Staten Island with the Wu-Tang Clan.

Anyone that truly knew Shawn knew he had no problem expressing himself. He was known for being brutally honest.  Shawn was a die-hard New York Giants & Knicks fan.  You could catch him court side at most of the Knicks game.  He was also known for being very fashionable and keeping up with the latest trends.

Shawn was an amazing Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. He is going to be deeply missed.  Shawn is preceded in death by his sister, Tameka Malcolm-Wembley; He is survived by his Mother Joanna Malcolm.  His two sisters Madeline and Quanita Malcolm. Brother-in-Law Robert Wembley.  His Nephew Tiquan Gwyn (Rolanda Gwyn).  His two Nieces Taz’mera Malcolm & T’Keyah Wembley. Two Great Nephews, Jamir & Bryce Gwyn and his Great Niece Zhuri Gwyn. God daughter JaMiya LaShawn Roberson and his brother from another mother (Riyad King). Shawn had many close friends, some more like family.  Cornelius Robinson (C.O), Craig King, Richard Draughn, Jason Bess, Xiomara Pacheco, Tekema Roberson, Wayne Powell (Pooh), Mark Ingram, Adam & Melissa Wright,  The Austin Brothers, and The Richburg Family.
