Robert Nelson Inman was born to Leola McBride and the late Robert Jackson, on April 26, 1966, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He attended P.S. #34 Elementary as a boy and Ferris High School as a teenager. Although he didn’t graduate, he later went on to get his GED and earn some college credits.
At the age of 15, Robert began working to help care for his first-born son, Shyquan Robert Singletary (Mary). Some years later he met, fell in love with, and married his ex-wife Venda Freeman. Robert and Venda moved to St. Thomas, V.I. for many years before moving back to the states. From this union three girls were born, Sharonna, Simone, and Shakila. While living there he worked various jobs, made friends, and lived his life.
After a devastating hurricane, Robert and his family moved back to the states. As time went on Robert and his wife grew apart, and along the way Robert had a second son, Robert Jr. (Carline).
Robert was a great cook and loved doing it. He especially loved to cook on the grill. He thought he was a natural born chef. Three months before his passing, he had just relocated back to New Jersey, where he was employed by 40 Dreams Catering. He food prepped and was a driver delivering hot meals to Seniors in various New Jersey Counties. Robert also loved to dress up and smell good. He would always say “Don’t I look good?” You know I look good.” And “Check me out!” He was a hard worker and will be missed.
