Ricky Ricardo Scott

On Monday, November 22nd, 2021, Rickey Ricardo Scott, Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle transitioned at the age of 65. Rickey was born on January 22nd, 1956 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Elouise Scott and late Leon Scott. Rickey was born and raised in Jersey City and resided here his entire life. Rickey received his education in the Jersey City public school system. He was employed as a factory worker for many years.

Rickey enjoyed his alone time and would often be found listening to Jazz music, chilling in his car. He enjoyed shooting pool and hanging out with his close friend Jether on MLK. His other spot was Beggar’s lot, whenever you needed money this is where you could find him, though he was the GIVER not the beggar! Rickey loved watching the Western TV shows and his favorite shows were the First 48 and Forensic files. Rickey aka as “SLICK” was quiet and never bothered anyone. If you didn’t talk to him, he didn’t talk to you. Many days we didn’t even know he was in the house he was so quiet, sitting on the couch watching TV.

Rickey was very generous whenever you needed money, he was the goto person and he never hound you to pay him back. He will always be remembered, and we will miss his presence and random laughs that confirmed he was listening to our conversations. Rickey was a listener not a talker. He is preceded in death by his Mother Eliouse Scott, Father Leon Scott, 2 Brothers (Eric Miles and Ronnie Scott) Sister, Gloria D. Scott and Grandson Lamar McKiver.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 2 daughters, Tomeka McKiver and Danielle Bland (Lenny), caring Sister Joanne Scott, 9 grandchildren, Shaneiqua McKiver, Khadijah McKiver, Brandon Bastek, Antonette McKiver, Aileem Ellis, Marshall Ellis, Alexzaver Byrd, Avianna Byrd and Trenell Byrd, 2 nephews Karone R. Scott & Tywaan Thomas, niece Kenneisha M. Scott, cousins Raekwon Dumas, Tarshika Green (Corey), 2 great grandchildren, his childhood friend Jether Abrams, friend Jon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all other loving family members.
