Marvin L Hammock was born in Jersey City, NJ on October 21, 1958 to Curtis Hammock and Leola Mason Hammock. He was one of six children. Marvin was educated in the Jersey City school system, graduating from Lincoln High School. He attended Jersey City State College (New Jersey City University), for two years, withdrawing to serve his country in the US Marines for 4 years. Marvin was employed with the US Post al Service as a supervisor and retired after 17 years of service. Marvin was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Knicks, Giants, and Mets. He loved to watch the games and trash his family on Facebook. Marvin loved God, his wife, family and friends and served them as Pastor, husband and father. On Nov.22, 2009, he founded Volume of the Book Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Leola Hammock Sr., his brother, Curtis Hammock Jr., and his sister Donna Pinkney. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 31 years Thelma; his sons Leon Wilson, and Marvin Jr; daughter in law, Candice Wilson; five grandchildren, Lianne, Aal iyah, Kiara, Sierra and Jordan; his brothers Lawrence (Scherry) Hammock, and Michael Hammock; twin sister Margurite (Robert) Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, God children, relatives and friends.
