Obituary

Rashaun Terek Woodards

Sunrise: March 19, 1990 – Sunset: January 8, 2026

Rashaun Terek Woodards was born to Alfred B. Reaves and Stephanie L. Woodards in Jersey City, New Jersey. As a young child, he attended the Jersey City Public School System. Creative, gifted, and full of imagination, Rashaun handcrafted many school projects that displayed his natural artistic ability. During his time at Public School #24, he excelled in the arts. He created a detailed model of the historical event The Alamo and a model of the Jersey City Police Department—both of which earned him outstanding recognition and praise from teachers, classmates and the Police Department.

Rashaun was the oldest of six children, a role he carried with pride and responsibility. He was deeply devoted to his mother and siblings, always stepping in to help wherever he was needed. Coming from a large and loving extended family—the Reaves and Woodards families—Rashaun was cherished by many. His presence was dependable, steady, and kind. Whether it was general home clean‑up, handyman work, construction tasks, or helping family members move, Rashaun was the one who always said “yes.” He made time for people. He showed up. He served with a willing heart.

Throughout his adult life, Rashaun worked for several odd jobs, warehouses, moving companies including Great American Van Lines in Jersey City and North Carolina. His strong work ethic, reliability, and physical strength made him a valued worker and a trusted team member.

To his peers in the city, Rashaun was affectionately known as “Rah.” He enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to rap music, and being part of the community that shaped him. His easygoing nature, sense of humor, and loyalty made him someone people gravitated toward.

Rashaun leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and family devotion. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Alfred and Stephanie, his sons; Rashaun Woodards, Jr., Kymir Woodards, grandmother; Rev. Dr. Linda A.
