‘A Fourth Link of a Chain of Eleven is missing’

Ralph Lloyd (Hook/Doc) was born on September 13, 1956 to the late Edward Wade Hampton Sr., and Marjorie Hampton. Ralph was born at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was the sixth child of eleven children.

Ralph was a twin to Rachel Lloyd. Being twins they had a special bond which by losing him she will always feel that a part of her is missing.

Ralph transitioned from this world on February 22, 2022. He attended P.S. 52, JHS 231 and Springfield Gardens High School all in Queens, NY.

He was a member of a band named ‘Fragrance of Soul’ in which he played the bass guitar. Another band was formed known as ‘Motivation’ in which he became the Manager and Road Manager.

Ralph served in the Army from 1977-1983. He was proud to serve in the military as a cook.

Ralph had a zest for life; he loved his family and friends. He had an avid love for music, photography, cooking and house painting.

He leaves behind one daughter Rasheeda Thomas (mother, Sally) and one grandson Prince Tucker. His brothers and sisters, and beloved in-laws Alice Lloyd of New Milford, PA; Benjamin F. Lloyd, (Bobbie) of Maryland, Ethel Lloyd-Turner (Joseph) of Chesapeake, VA; Dr. James C. Gear (Kunita) of Maryville, TN; Mona Twitty-Sangare, (Alpha), of Far Rockaway; Rachel Lloyd (twin sister) of Queens, NY; Lillie Hampton, aka Sputty of Queens, NY; Lionel D. Hampton, (Anette) of Freeport, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And has gone home to be reunited with Jesse Lloyd, Edward W. Hampton Jr. (Abdul/Buggy), and Linda F. Hampton.
