Omar Malik Williams Obituary
Omar Malik Williams passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Omar was born on April 16, 1978, to the Late Julius Thomas and Nila Marie Williams in Brooklyn, New York. After his family relocated from Brooklyn to East Orange, New Jersey, he attended Our Lady Help of Christians School during his elementary years. He attended Essex Catholic for Boys and Montclair High Schools and later received his high school diploma as an adult. Omar loved all sports. He played basketball and football during his early years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family when he could. Omar always shared how much he missed the “good ole days” of family reunions, cook-outs, and fun times with cousins. He loved watching sporting events or just chilling with friends. He loved laughter, making jokes, and telling stories.
Omar was preceded in death by his father, Julius Thomas Williams, older brother, Julius Thomas Williams, Jr., and grandfather, Frederick Pierce.
Omar leaves behind his only child and loving son, Elijah Malik Williams. He is forever loved by his mother, Nila Williams and stepdad, Tony Jones. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Shirley Jones. His sisters, Maisah Williams-Foote (Omar), Khaliah Williams (Berlange Joseph) and Janice Lewis (Ken). His brothers Roy Douglas, Jr., Dennis Williams, and Samuel (Sam) Defreese. His son’s mother, Shae Evans. Beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other treasured family and friends.
Omar’s life ended too soon and unexpectedly, but the memories shared with the people that loved him are forever.
