It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Turner, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 69.

Michael was born on July 13, 1955, in Jersey City, NJ, to his loving parents, Claude and Pearlean Turner (née Curry). He grew up with a love for life and an infectious sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met.

A fun-loving individual, Michael had a passion for basketball and spent countless hours showcasing his skills on the court. In his younger years, he also served as a swim coach, dedicating himself to inspiring young athletes. His love for sports was a defining part of his life and a source of joy to those around him.

Michael’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He was the loving father of two daughters, Phadadria Turner-Randall and Shanice Harrison, and the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life. Michael was also a cherished brother and uncle, with a host of friends who became like family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Family Funeral Home, 445 Monmouth Street, Jersey City, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests all gifts be sent to Phadadria Turner-Randall, P.O. Box 141, Hopatcong, NJ 07843.

Michael Turner’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He will forever be remembered for his spirited nature, his generosity, and the countless lives he touched during his time with us.
