Obituary for Mary Ann Brunson

God saw it was to pluck up his own, and he took Mary Ann (Annie) with him.
A TIME TO BE BORN
Mary Ann (Harold) Brunson was born to the late Isaac and Lucille Harold on April 6, 1939 at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey.
A TIME TO LEARN
Mary Ann graduated from Public School #3 and Lincoln High School both in Jersey City, New Jersey, as well as Drake Business School in New York, New York.
A TIME TO EMBRACE
Mary Ann was united in Holy Matrimony to Flander Brunson, Jr. on June 16, 1962 and were bless with two children, Lenora & Jason.
A TIME TO SERVE
Mary Ann accepted Christ at the early age of 12 and joined Mount Olive Baptist Church, in 1951, under the leadership of the late Rev. W.M. Williams, and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church, 525 Bramhall Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey.
During her 71 years, Mary Ann has prided herself on being a very faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, serving in various auxiliaries such as the Supervisor of the Young Adult Choir and Junior Church, President and Secretary of the Mass Choir, Secretary and Teacher for the Sunday School, Secretary to the Missionary, Baptist Training Union, the Burial Fund and Usher Board. She was also a member of the Senior Group, Credit Union, New Hope Missionary Baptist Association, Christian Fellowship Association, the General Baptist State Convention and the National Baptist Convention, Inc.
As you can read Mary Ann loved Association and the Convention no matter where the Association or Convention was held. She was an active person in her church and outside in her community. Mary Ann would do anything for you that she could’ve. Her gift from God was to work with young people and harass them.
A TIME TO WORK
Mary Ann was employed at numerous jobs such as Robert Halls, MCU New York, Telephone Operator, Bank Teller, Data Entry Operator and working as a Mimeograph Operator of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
A TIME TO DIE
Mary Ann made her heavenly transition on June 14, 2022 at Medical Center Hospital after her battle with a timely illness. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Isaac & Lucille Harold; brothers, James & Eddie Lee Harold Sr; daughter, Lenora (Brunson) O’Neal and aunts, Elizabeth Williams, Sophie Hammond, Annie Odom & Frances Odom.
Mary Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Flander Brunson, Jr.; son, Jason R. Brunson (Delshay); Son-in-law, Kevin O'Neal; 2 adopted children, Debra Mercer and Lamar Tucker; brother, Rode Odom; adopted sister, Margie Barbee; 4 grandchildren, Jasmine, Amber, Justin & Sa'Mone Brunson; adopted granddaughter, Jazmin Gooding; great granddaughter, Malayah Livingston, 6 sister-in-laws, Ollie Mae Odom, Claropatria Harold, Gladys Harold, Thelma B. Farris, Shirley Brunson & Ernestine Brunson; Brother-in-law, Abraham Brunson; 9 nephews, Charles B. Diggs, Eddie Lee Harold Jr., Keith Odom, John Odom, Ronald Odom, Michael Odom, Eddie Odom, James Harreld & Quinton Harreld; 6 nieces, Chanelle Harold, Faye Freeman, Carla Odom, Keisha Harreld, Wilhelima Bostick & Navonna Albright; 7 Cousins, Dolores Hammond, Herman Hammond, Lillie Adams, Henry Odom, Charlotte White, JoAnn Brewster & Richard Williams; 4 god children, Dawn Marie W. Cumming, Eric Morris, April Wilson & Charlie Bankhead and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, loving relatives, friends, members of the Former Young Adult's Choir, and the Mt.
