Marquis Jermaine Diggs
Marquis Jermaine Diggs aka (Lips) was born January 5,1983 in Jersey City, NJ to Lynette (Tracy) Diggs and Benjamin Jones. On Thursday December 4, 2020 he transitioned from this like to everlasting life in glory.
Marquis received his education in Jersey City Public School system. He attended P.S. #12 and graduated from Ferris High School. He was always interested in sports, as a small child he played in the little league baseball team. Marquis was also a dedicated Cowboys fan just like his grandmother. He worked at Big Lot’s and Hello Fresh.
Marquis was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He had a big personality and enjoyed cracking jokes on people. He could put a smile on anyone’s face and could definitely make you laugh. You had to have thick skin because he was a jokester. He often traveled and he loved road trips. He was very family oriented.
Marquis is preceded on his journey to glory by his grandmother Lidia Diggs, great grand parents Marjorie Carter & Powell See Price, two great uncles Powell (Jerry) Price, and Ronald (Sonny) Price.

Closest friends Lisa, Alimin, Brandon, Yaya, Marquis, & Corey. As well as a host of cousins and friends who will miss him.
We Had Him - Maya Angelo
Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing
Now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips like a puff of summer wind
Without notice, our dear love can escape our doting embrace
Sing our songs among the stars and and walk our dances across the face of the moon
In the instant we learn that Marquis is gone we know nothing
No clocks can tell our time and no oceans can rush our tides
With the abrupt absence of our treasure
Though we our many, each of us is achingly alone
Piercingly alone
Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us and we did have him
He came to us from the Creator, trailing creativity in abundance
Despite the anguish of life he was sheathed in mother love and family love and survived and did more than that
He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style
We had him
Whether we knew who he was or did not know, he was ours and we were his
We had him
Due to COVID-19 the repast will be private.
