Malaika T Murray was born on May 31, 1972 in Jersey City, NJ to Warren and Dorothy Shaw.

Malaika who was affectionately known to her family and close friends as “Leaky” received her education

In the Jersey City Public schools system, where she attended Whitney Moore (PS #15) Grammar School and then attended Henry Snyder School and graduated in June, 1990. She then attended New Jersey City University also know as State Teacher College where obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

During the course of her employment she was employed with 3 very referable companies such as Pain Weber Weehawken, NJ, Toy R Us Wayne, NJ and Home Depot, North Bergen, NJ until she became employed by the Irvington Public System as an Executive Assistant.

Malaika had a heart of gold that didn’t hesitate to assist anyone. She was a giving person that loved everyone and was well loved by all.

Malaika was processed in death by her grandmother Ella Murray 2021 and her nephew hew Javon Murray 2016.

Malaika leaves to cherish her memories her parents Warren and Dorothy Shaw of Rahway, NJ, Her Fiance Rossie Best of Jersey City, NJ, Her son Glendell D Murray of Jersey City, NJ, her sisters Tameeka Murray, Jasmine Shaw and Shatia Hill all of Jersey City, NJ, Her brother Khaaliq Murray Sr of her Jersey City, NJ, 5 nieces Amaya, Kylie Murray, Tatyana Shaw, Yasmeen McDonald and Mia Lambert all of Jersey City, NJ, 3 nephews Khaaliq Murray Jr, Jermaine George and Dashawn Johnson all of Jersey City, NJ, 1 great nephew Hazziq Hill of Jersey City, NJ, her 2 best friends Pat Fordham of Bayonne, NJ and Ch’hara Royal of Elizabeth, NJ along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
