OBITUARY
Keishia Wheeler, a vibrant soul whose laughter was as infectious as her impeccable sense of style, has completed her earthly tour de force on October 5, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on September 7, 1984, in the bustling city of Hoboken, New Jersey, Keishia's vivacity and zest for life were evident from the very beginning. A proud graduate of Bayonne High School, Keishia's early education at Horace Mann Elementary laid the foundation for a life filled with learning, growth, and a dash of mischief. She was the kind of person who could light up a room with her smile and keep it illuminated with her wit. Keishia's journey through various jobs led her to her final role as a Security Officer at Amazon in West Deptford, New Jersey, where she was known for her diligence and the occasional sassy remark that kept her coworkers on their toes. She was a dedicated professional, but it was her larger-than-life personality that truly made her unforgettable.
In her personal life, Keishia was the epitome of style and comfort, living by the mantra that "cute and comfortable" wasn't just a fashion statement, but a lifestyle. She believed in looking her best, whether she was at the gym, which she frequented with the determination of a warrior, or simply lounging at home, where she never missed an opportunity to outshine even the chicest of home decor.
Her love for her children, Latayvia, Tajai, Tajial, Jadeiss and Philip, was the centerpiece of her world, with her cherished granddaughter Iy'sani adding an extra sparkle to her eye. Keishia's father, Thomas J. Scott, along with her adored siblings Melissa, Nichole, Tommy, Kameisha, and Lewis Jay, were the treasured co-stars of her life's sitcom. She was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Alice Wheeler. Keishia's Christian faith was a guiding light, and her church community will surely miss her spirited "Amens" and her soul-stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace" that could make even the staunchest of souls sway.
One could often find Keishia in the kitchen, whipping up some soul food that could soothe any heartache or celebrate any joy. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her meals were a testament to her belief that food, much like life, should be savored and shared. A comedian at heart, Keishia lived by the words of the great Lucille Ball, "The secret to staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age." Her laughter will echo in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will be carried on through the countless stories of her humor, kindness, and unyielding spirit.
Keishia Wheeler's final curtain call may have come, but her encore will resonate through the lives of her beloved family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She played the game of life with gusto and left us all with memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come.
