James A. McLaughlin, age 75, died September 18, 2024 in time to know the Yankees clinched a playoff spot.
Jim was born in the Bronx to a large Irish family that migrated North to Westchester County.
He graduated from Iona Prep and Fordham University and worked on Wall Street for years. He was a $2 broker on the ASE, later becoming the “Johnny Appleseed” of the $2 bill.
Jim is survived by two brothers, three sisters , his wife Betsy of 51 years, children Dana, Lucinda, and James, and five grandchildren (soon to be six).
A long time resident of Glen Ridge, NJ and member of the Glen Ridge Country Club, he and his wife retired to Point Pleasant. Jim enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, the beach, and a good cigar.
Jim was a volunteer with CASA of Ocean County and Point Pleasant CERT.
Jim will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by his family and friends.
