On Sunday, October 3rd Elouise Scott loving Mother and Grandmother transitioned at the age of 87. Elouise was born on March 7th, 1934 in Aiken, SC to the late Lilly B. Larkins and Eugene Larkins. Elouise was born and raised in Aiken, SC where she met her husband Leon Scott.
Growing up in SC she worked in the field picking cotton and she would often remind us this was her least favorite thing to do. She also worked at Emerson Factory and the Board of Education. She later relocated to Jersey City, NJ where she became a Faithful member of St. John Baptist Church for many years. She eventually relocated to Newark, NJ where she resided most of her life.
Elouise was loving though very outspoken; we felt her sincere love for us. She was an amazing cook, she always made sure her 5 children were fed, every night before they went to bed. We will always remember her homemade banana pudding and delicious sweet potato pudding.
She always put a smile on your face with her compliments and continuously made us laugh. Her favorite saying was “YOU LOOK GOOD, GOD BLESS YOU! She loved to dress, her clothes were tailor made, she even remembered her tailors name “Evelyn Jeter” and would always say she made her clothes perfect just for her. She would always say “I was SHARP”. We will miss her, the memories will remain in our hearts, as we reflect on the valuable moments we shared.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Leon Scott, Mother Lilly B. Larkins, Father Eugene Larkins, Lifetime LOVING Companion Sidney Jenkins, two Sons (Eric Miles and Ronnie Scott) Daughter, Gloria D. Scott, Sister, Bulah Dumas and her favorite cousin Willie McCreary aka Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Son, Rickey R. Scott, caring Daughter Joanne Scott, 5 grandchildren, Tomeka McKiver, Karone R. Scott, Kenneisha M. Scott, Tywann Thomas and Danielle Bland, 1 niece Tarshika Green (Corey Green), 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all other loving family members.
Rest well Nana we love you dearly and recognize that God loves you more!
