Carol Ann George, was born on May 23, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Henry and Mary Arvinger. She was one of six children; three brothers, Lesley, *Arkbar , *Floyd and two sisters, *Earlene and *Dorothy (*deceased). On September 11, 2023, Carol departed this life and entered her eternal home.
Carol attended PS #22 elementary school. She later met and married the love of her life, David Fuller George. From this union three children were born; Roxanne, Patricia and Leslie. Carol began employment at a cleaning service with Mrs. Jones. She also was a hairdresser specializing in Jeri Curls. Carol was a proud long-time member of St. John’s Baptist Church where she sung in the choir.
Carol later begun a career as a Security Officer badge #60,
Safety Department of New Jersey City University for 18 Years, until her retirement in 2016. She was known to many at NJCU as “Grandma George” because of her kind and nurturing spirit. Her dedication and commitment to New Jersey City University spoke volumes to the passion she had for her position and the campus community she served.
Carol lived for her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She enjoyed Pepsi soda, arts and crafts, singing, cooking soul food, caregiving for others and shopping (which earned her the title Bag Lady). Carol was known for her stylish dress, fancy hair do’s and was a fashionista from head to toe.
Carol leaves to cherish her everlasting memories; three daughters, Roxanne, Patricia & Leslie; one brother, Lesley (Sonny); fifteen grandchildren, two best friends, Ida and Brenda; two sister in laws, Patricia & Janice; host of relatives & friends.
