Obituary
Adonis M. White
"Donnie"
His Entrance
Adonis M. White was born May 21, 1970 at the Jersey City Margaret Hague Hospital to Linda Stokes and the late Willie M. White. From birth he always lit up the room with his smile and jolly personality. His presence from a child to an adult could make anyone feel a sense of joy and laughter. His family and friends affectionately called him ̈Donnie or Big D ̈. He kept his aunts and uncles on their toes taking off and walking at 9 months. In 1983 Adonis and his mom moved to Irvington, NJ and resided there til his late adult life, then became a resident of North Bergen in 2022. Adonis loved to read and was always great with numbers.
His Education Journey
Adonis was always a genius in his classroom and started his learning journey at an early age. He attended ABC Kiddie College in Jersey City for Early Childhood development. For Elementary School he attended Nicolaus Copernicus School and was enrolled in Gifted and Talented Classes, where he graduated with academic honors. Adonis' brilliance opened many doors and he was accepted to many High Schools on full scholarship for honor classes. However, he chose to attend Henry Snyder HS of Jersey City with many of his family and friends.
Many of his classmates would always share stories about how he helped them with their school work and gave them answers to their test! He was most popular and known to be the comedian of the building. Adonis was a wiz in the business world and later in life chose to attend Pace University Business School and received his Associates Degree in Business Management.
His Dedication to Christ
Adonis was born and raised in church under the leadership of his late Grandfather Rev. Melvin and Grandmother Essie Kennedy and sang in the choir as a little boy at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Jersey City. As an active member of the youth choir, Adonis gave his life to Christ and confessed his belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and was baptized soon after. Adonis would be quick to remind you in his adult life that he knew who God was and he went to church as a child and remembered the lessons taught and held them in his heart. Adonis had a heart for people and was a servant to many he came in contact with.
His Dreams that Came True
Adonis’ Dad, Willie White was known for being ̈The Boss ̈ in the construction business and made sure to teach his sons all they needed to know to be successful. Adonis first job along with his big brother Kareem was working with his dad at Paint It Rite Construction, where he became ̈The Boss Jr. ̈ As a child, Adonis ́ mom knew that music would be one of his interests because at 3 years old he asked his mom to take him to the Apollo to see the O ́Jays and of course she did. That then became a thing for him and he visited the Apollo, Symphony Hall and many musical concerts often. While achieving his BIG DREAMS in construction, Adonis began to pursue ANOTHER DREAM in the music world and became the Executive Producer for Double XX Posse who came out with the hit record ̈Nah Baby, I ́m Not Gonna Be Able To Do It ̈ and later on became the owner of Fun Music Group. Adonis never stopped DREAMING and he continued to push forward and started his own contracting company, 21 Contracting. Not only did Adonis dream for himself but he pushed others to follow their dreams as well. Adonis is one of the founders and builders of By Kiy with his eldest son Kiyree. Finally, Adonis was a realtor and developer for multi states from New Jersey to Kentucky. He was a staunch political lobbyist and was very dedicated to serving his community and feeding the hungry with Arelius
Sec Ingram. He didn't dare stop there. Two highlights of him and his service is one, being in Kentucky a part of the process of a home development, he once saw a homeless man and told him that the home being built was his once done. He also had a close relationship with his friend and brother David Timmons ̈Ease ̈ and imparted the same knowledge his dad imparted in him and made sure he was able to attend Pace University as well and became business partners. Donnie saw the best in people and always found a way to push them into their destiny. He was a servant who did well.
