Minnie passed peacefully form this life the morning of April 20th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Minnie was born in Sparta, Georgia to the late Toney (S) & Louise (Haley) Stembridge. The Stembridge family migrated to Jersey City in 1954. Soon after Minnie met and married Henry L. Carter in 1958. To them were born 3 children.

Minnie worked for Home Laundry in Jersey City, NJ before retiring to care for her son. She volunteered in the she soup kitchen for the homeless a few years until her mother became ill, at which time she dropped everything to care for her. That was the kind of woman she was, She made sure everyone around her were taken care of. She was wise, kind, and stern when needed, but always loving. Her house was where everyone gathered for the holidays where there was plenty of food, music, and laughter.

Minnie was a devoted member of Soul Saving Church of God in Christ for 30 years. She had a great love for the Lord. she loved to sing in the adult choir and attended Sunday School faithfully. Minnie moved to Maryland in 2015 to live with her daughter and became a beloved member of Life Covenant Christian Ministries until her passing.

Minne is survived by 3 children: Beverly Ann Carter, Richard Anthony Carter and Henry Lee Carter; Daughter -in-Law: Mary Carter; Grandchildren: Lee, Theodore, Robbin, Capricia, Shaun, Curtis, Shanita, Haley, Alana, Deshawn, Hannah, and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Toney and Louise Stembridge, her brother Willie B. Stembridge and two sisters, Caroleen Cooper, and Ethel L. Banks.
