Mary Catherine Postle nee Jones was born on September 21st, 1937 at the Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, NJ to the late Harry E. Jones and Eliza Tyler-Jones.  She departed this life and made her heavenly transition on November 21st, 2017 at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ.
Mary Catherine was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, NJ and she was educated in the Jersey City Public School System at PS #3.  In 1955 she graduated from James J. Ferris High school which was then located on Coles Street in downtown Jersey City.  While at a party with her girlfriend Mrs. Annabell Smith she met, fell in love with and later married Charles Edward Postle on New Year's Day. And to that union two children were born Charles E. Postle and Diethra Marie Postle.
Mary Catherine worked as an Office Administrator for the Starlight Trading Company on Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen, NJ  for many years until the company changed hands.  Then she went to work for the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne, NJ at their Retail Garment Distribution Center as a Ticketing Supervisor until the company closed down.  After a brief stay at home Mary went to work for the Salvation Army as a Classroom Grandmother in the Jersey City Head Start Program until her health began to fail her.
Mary Catherine had a beautiful smile and a unique sense of humor that made everyone laugh.  She had a special way of getting her family and friends to do what she wanted them to do and whom she loved being around, especially during the holidays.  She loved to party and going out to party with her "Sister Girls" in Brooklyn, NY.  She would give you the truth in BIG doses and then help you swallow it down.  She loved going out to eat but, you could always win her over with some Popeye's Fried Chicken, Pepsi and Mary Jane candy.
In 1990 Mary Catherine joined and was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monticello Avenue, Jersey City, NJ under the Pastorate of Rev. G. L. Wilson.  Several years later when Pastor Wilson was called to the Grace Chapel church in Paterson, NJ Mary moved her membership to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church 400 Arlington Avenue, Jersey City, NJ under Rev. John H. McReynolds.  While there she served and was part of the Missionary Ministry for several years.  When she moved to the Harborview Senior Citizen Building at 145 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City, NJ she then became a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Pastor Emeritus Rev. Willie W. Wilson and the former Pastor Rev. Barron O. Wilson.  She served on the Missionary Ministry, the Sisters United in Christ Women's Ministry and briefly on the Senior Choir.
Mary Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Harry E. Jones and Eliza Tyler-Jones, her husband Charles E. Postle, her son, her sister Beatrice Jones, her Mother-in-law Hattie Lucille Holloway, and her five special sister friends Joyce Price, Norma Pritchard, Dorothy Stretchen, Betty Brown and Eretha Domnie.
Mary Catherine leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter Rev. Diethra Marie Postle of Bayonne, NJ, a beloved brother William A. Jones (Joyce) of Palm coast, FL, a loving, caring sister Willie Mae Walton of Naples, FL, four nephews Sam Walton Jr., Steven Walton, Rashad D.
