Jerome "Cocky Jay" Lancaster was born on January 15, 1957 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to the late Prince and Lizzie B. Lancaster. He entered into Eternal Rest April 25, 2019 at the Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City New Jersey.
Jerome attended the Jersey City Public School System and graduated from P.S #30 and Abraham Lincoln High School. He also attended William Patterson College. He also played Basketball and Football through out his Educational years he was Non-Stoppable. He was employed with Mabon Nugent, Pitney Bowes and Novitex for over thirty- seven years.
Jerome is predeceased in death by his parents the late Prince and Lizzie B. Lancaster, maternal grandparents, the late Willie Sr. and Mattie Hampton, one brother, the late Billy Lancaster, one nephew the late Eric C. Wilson, and one niece the late Sharhonda M. Lancaster, 4 uncles, The late Johnny, Willie Jr, Leon Sr and John Hampton, 5 aunts, The late Rosa Lee Jamison, Martha Jamison, Jessie Mae Washington, Inell McAllister and Victoria Davis.
Jerome "Cocky Jay" leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life his stepfather John Washington (Rita), Four brothers Carlton Hampton, Samuel Lancaster, Johnnie Lancaster of Jersey City, NJ and John Hampton (Paula) of East Stroudsburg, PA, four sisters, Mary E. Lancaster, Pamela D. Lancaster, Ruthie M. Lancaster- Davis and Susan S. Hampton of Jersey City, NJ, Uncle of Thirty - Three, Great Uncle of Twenty- Six and Great Great Uncle of eight nephews and nieces, two aunts, Beatrice Mitchell of Jersey City, NJ and Queenie Hampton of Greensboro, NC, Three uncles, Paul Washington of Holly Hill, SC, Russell McAllister of Whiteville, NC and James Davis of East Orange, NJ, Great friend of Clifford Mallette and a host of Loving family and friends.
