Edward Marshall Jones, Jr., born June 16, 1932 to Edward M. Jones Sr., and Anna Jones. He was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, until he passed peacefully, Thursday, December 20, 2018 He was educated through the Jersey City Public School System. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1950 achieving many accomplishments including Corporal in 1953. He received the Korean Service Medal (Bronze Star) in combat, and the Infantry Badge. He traveled many places while in the service such as Korea and Germany before his Honorable discharge as Corporal in August of 1953. Edward met Marie Rivers where she won his heart and they married June 19, 1954. And, to this union 6 children were born. Edward worked for the United States Postal Service for a few years in the 1960’s. He later drove for the Public Bus Company for a few years and moved on to Drogin Bus Company from which he retired. He was a Mason for many years at Prince Hall Friendship Lodge Chapter #44 where he served his time becoming Past Master. He was also a Shriner of Golconda Chapter #24. He joined Zion Baptist church under Rev. Eugene Byrd where he was later ordained a Deacon. Edward loved his family. You could often catch him sitting on his front porch enjoying his grandkids, family and friends. He loved sweets especially grapes and Pepsi soda. He was a master carpenter fixing and building things around the house. He was a real handyman and great at it. He enjoyed watching western movies in his many different favorite chairs he had in his living room. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna Jones, his siblings Thelma, Emma, Katherine, Harold, Robert, Charles, Vernal, Leo, and Jack, and his daughters Carlina Jones, and Valerie Jones-Ashley, and son in law, Oliver “Champ” Ashley. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife of 64 years, Marie Jones; his loving sons Victor, Richard, Gregory Jones and his baby girl Karen Jones; his grandchildren whom he adored, Kierra Jones, Richard Jones Jr., Devon Stevens, Sr., Hasaan Smith, Raekwon Jones, Charmayne Ashley, Lamar Jones, Annastasia Jones, Dontae Jones, and Qwan Fox, Jr.; his great- grandchildren Richard Jones III, Devon Stevens, Jr., and Aaliyah Jones; his god daughter Robin Anderson-Berkeley, and god sons Gerome Jordan, and Dwayne Jordan. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends
