Apostle Steven Lundy Obituary

Steven Arturo Lundy was born on September 17, 1964, the only child born to the union of the late Peter E. Lundy and Doris Miller Lundy. The family moved to Roselle, NJ in 1977 where he received his formal education through the Roselle Public School System and Union County College where he earned an Associate in Criminal Justice.

At an early age he played the drums and later learned to play the organ for the Back to God Crusade Center founded by his mother.  Prior to the establishment of this ministry his family was active members of the Deliverance Center in Newark, NJ under the tutelage of Apostle Arturo Skinner who was his godfather and gave him his middle name.  After the passing of Apostle Skinner the Lundy family joined the Bibleway Deliverance Center in Roselle, NJ under the leadership of Bishop Wayne L. Johnson.

For many years he traveled with Prophet Brian J. Mosley and Evangelist W.V. Grant as a musician. Through this experience Steven answered the call to evangelize and assist in the growth of innumerable ministries.  Upon his mother's demise, he was positioned to accept the ultimate call on his life and that was to pastor. Following in his mother's footsteps he became the pastor of The Back to God Crusade Center.

Steven was a licensed and ordained by Bishop Wayne Johnson where he faithfully served as an Apostle, Prophet, and General Board member of the Deliverance Covenant Fellowship Church. He was also Senior Pastor of the Back to God Center where he served loyally. In his latter years due to failing health he joined The Greater Glory Church under the pastorate of Dr. Fondrea Lewis, whom in her early years he mentored and imparted the prophetic anointing.

Steven was not a typical sports fanatic. His love for the martial arts prepared him to be promoted to the position of 10th degree black belt. He developed his own style and eventually opened his own school. Wrestling was also something he would spend hours watching and analyzing each move the wrestlers made.

In 1989 he married the lovely Esther Annette Mitchell-Lundy.  For all that knew him she was the love of his life.  In November of 2017 they celebrated 28 years of marriage.

He leaves to cherish his life, his wife Esther Annette Lundy, six siblings; Carol (Eric), Sharon (Porter), Patricia (Gregory), Ishmael (Lenore), Peter, II (Debbie), Ronnie Varlow (Connie), Jeanette Monk (Lacel), two brothers- in- law Thomas E. Mitchell, Jason Bess (Kim), three sisters-in-law, Debra Mitchell, Miriam Hawkins, and Patricia (Michael) Shaw; a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual children, cousins, and loved ones.
